Canyon Diablo Arizona Meteorites refer to a group of meteorites that were found in the vicinity of Canyon Diablo, Arizona. These meteorites are believed to have originated from the impact of a large asteroid or comet on Earth's surface approximately 50,000 years ago. The impact created the famous Meteor Crater, also known as Barringer Crater, which is one of the best-preserved impact craters on Earth.

The Canyon Diablo meteorites are classified as iron meteorites, specifically belonging to the octahedrite group. They are composed mainly of iron and nickel, with minor amounts of other elements such as cobalt and phosphorus. The meteorites exhibit a characteristic Widmanstätten pattern when etched with acid, which is caused by the intergrowth of iron-nickel minerals.

The impact that formed Meteor Crater and scattered the Canyon Diablo meteorites is estimated to have released an enormous amount of energy, equivalent to several million tons of TNT. The crater itself has a diameter of about 1.2 kilometers (0.75 miles) and a depth of around 170 meters (570 feet).
