Stones For Woodturning CATALOG

Stephen Hatcher most likely wasn't the very first person that ever crushed different colored rocks and used them for doing wood inlay work, but, he most certainly is responsible for the modern-day movement among wood turners in doing a vast array of wood turning stone inlay work. Mr. Hatcher is a true artist in doing wood turnings and stone inlay pieces. Beautiful. You can see some of Mr. Hatcher's work and read how he does the stone inlay work at his site at: www.stephenhatcher.com.

When doing inlay work in your wood turnings, it is important that you select stones that are soft enough to where you can send the piece after placing the stones. What we've done here is select stones with a hardness of six on the hardness scale, or less. Sandpaper is normally an eight or nine. (Corundum paper.)
