M921 -
Moss Agate Specimens, Chunks (Wyoming).
A variety of quartz (Silicon dioxide) Hardness 7. Conchoidal
fracture. Moss agate at a chalcedony variety of the quartz family.
It is usually translucent with a moss-like hornblende inclusion. Great
for semi-precious gemstones. Moss agate is a favorite for those that
do lapidary work and takes a good polish.
You can hold a piece of this material up to a light and can see the
moss-like fibers inside the piece. Beautiful! Great for specimens and
for cutting.
