Agate/Quartz Slabs From left to right are the $3.80, $5.60, and the $7.50 size Quartz. Silicon dioxide. Hardness 7. These are all natural colors. Not died. The specimens are about 1/4" to about 3/16" thick and range in size from 3" diameter to better than 6". All of these beautiful pieces are polished on both sides. Most of these pieces have a colorful chalcedony agate rind around the outer edges and has a crystallized quartz center. Some pieces has a cavity in the center (geode) with drusy crystals. Really nice pieces. These thin slabs are great for making cabochons, and other lapidary work. They also make great displays, where you place a light behind the specimen or, put it near a window where the natural light shown through the slab, showing the colors and beautiful swirls and mineral formations.
