Tigereye, Rough - Golden & Blue (Africa).
This material is a mix of golden
yellow and blue, sometimes both colors on the same chunk of rock with
streaks of yellow and
blue. Great for lapidary work, tumbling, and specimens.
Tigereye is a finely fibrous, opaque
variety of quartz. Silicon Dioxide. Hardness 7. Used as a
semi-precious gemstone. Very popular for cabochons and beads and cameos.
The golden yellow color is a result from inclusions of limonite.
