M712a - Sulphur specimen, Utah. Sulphur is easily identified. There are few minerals which can be confused with sulfur. It is characteristic deposit of the late stages of volcanic activity. Sulphur has great economic uses in the making of sprays, production of sulfuric Acid, and the vulcanization of rubber. It is light yellow in color when pure. Luster resinous. Hardness 2. Gravity 2.
