M706 - Cuprite specimens from Morenci, Greenlee County, Arizona.

Cuprite is a secondary copper mineral. A Copper Oxide which forms in zones of alteration in disseminated hydrothermal replacement deposits where it occurs with native copper.

These specimens have been cleaned with mild acids to show the copper, milky quartz, green malachite, cream and white colored calcite and on some, a bluish/purplish irridescent color of the copper ore.
