Marcasite Crystal - France
Disulfide of iron. Hardness 6 to 6-1/2. These pie-shaped specimens
are nodule segments that were broken from large basebass-size nodules. "Marcasite"
is believed to derive from an Arabic word once used for pyrite.
These specimens have been
sprayed with a light coat of clear acrylic to protect them from
disintegrating from contact with air. Nice specimens. Good price.
