Halite (Sodium Chloride) from Searles Lake (salt flats), San Bernardino Co., Trona, Calif.

The pink color of these beautiful crystal specimens is caused by the salt-loving bacteria, halobacteria, that populated the water that is now evaporated from this area.

These are a very nice size for collections.
