Basic Copper Carbonate. Hardness 3-1/2 to 4. Azurite is a secondary copper mineral and develops in the zone of alteration in all types of hydrothermal replacement deposits, where it commonly occurs with malachite,
limonite, and chalcopyrite. Very unusual crystal formations. Does not normally crystallize into round spheres.
