M450 - This opal is from a volcanic deposit near Tucson, Arizona. This "common opal" looks chalky from a distance but when you look closer, you realize that it is quite hard and has a sparkely appearance (opal is silicon dioxide + H 2 O).

This white opal is fine for cabbing and once polished, should have an opalescent appearance.

It fluoresces a brilliant lime green!
