M371 - Azurite is an ore of copper. It is a secondary copper mineral and develops in the zone of alteration in all types of hydrothermal replacement deposits, where it commonly occurs with malachite, limonite, and chalcopyrite.

I read that the ancient Egyptians ground azurite into a powder, mixed it into a paste and used it to decorate their eyes.

This deep blue azurite is from Morocco.
