M160 - Septarium nodule. These beautiful nodules are thought to have formed in shallow, settling basins. The ingredients were derived through weathering of the rocks distributed over the drainage area. Among the weathered products were chiefly colloidal clays, calcite and colloidal siderite together with minor accessory materials. The yellowish star shaped center of the nodule is calcite.
