M118 - Sodium Potassium Sulfate Carbonate Chloride. Very unusual (because of its chemical make up), strikingly beautiful, pyramidal crystals. Light to dark green in color. Many double terminated, six sided, single crystals, 1" to 4" diameter, and clusters of crystals 3" to 6" in diameter. (Looks almost like a moss agate when held up to a light source!) Some specimens of crystal clusters are up to 6" long. Hanksite forms in evaporite deposits, which occur in arid environments. These specimens were found about 20 feet underground at Searles . |
