M117 - Glauberite crystals (Sodium Calcium Sulfate)

Greenish white crystals from the Camp Verde Salt Mines, Verde Valley, Arizona.

Hardness: 2-1/2 to 3.

 Ray personally collected these unusual crystals during three trips to this collecting site in north central Arizona.

Not a common mineral and is not often found in mineral collections. It is of interest mainly to crystal collectors.

Some specimens have a green tint to them, from the copper content in the soil where they were found.
