Beautiful white to cream colored cave aragonite from Chihuahua, Mexico. White sparkling crystallized aragonite specimens that formed at the roof of a cave or cavity like a stalactite. The cave aragonite is a carbonate mineral, the stable form of calcium carbonate. This cave aragonite is somewhat harder and has a slightly higher specific gravity than calcite. In a cave or cavity environment this mineral grows at room temperature. Aragonite is a mineral normally found in pearls, and it occurs in some animal shells.
These white cave aragonite specimens are some of the finest we have seen. Delicate sprays of clusters of pure white aragonite looks a lot like coral. Some of this material is ultraviolet and glows green under a short wave black light.
As to the metaphysical aspects of white cave aragonite, it is believed that aragonite provides as ease of centering oneself during periods of stress and anger. Said to provide a self-acceptance of oneself, helping one to gain insite into the basis of problems that need solving.
