Malachite - Chrysocolla - Azurite - Limonite - Chalcopyrite

Malachite and chrysocolla are both basic copper ores. Malachite is a basic copper carbonate while chrysocolla is abasic copper silicate. Malachite has a hardness of 3-1/2 to 4. Chrysocolla has a hardness of between 2 and 4.

Both the Malachite and Chrysocolla are secondary copper mineral that forms in the zone of alteration in massive, lode, and disseminated hydrothermal replacement deposits.

Associated minerals are Malachite, Chrysocolla, Azurite, limonite, and chalcopyrite.

Malachite and chrysocolla are both used as semi-precious gemstones and used in carvings. Yes, this material would made cutting material.
