Ammonite/Orthoceris Display Plate.

Great looking Ammonite and Orthoceris display plate.
The actual fossils have been put into the stone place but this only adds
to the beauty of the specimen. The Ammonites and Orthoceris were both
Cephalopods
that existed during the same time period. The Ammonite had a coiled,
rounded shell and the Orthoceris
had a straight shell. Both the cephalopods had tentacles like
the modern octopus and squid. Modern cephalopods are the octopus,
squid and cuttlefish. 350 million years old.
Weighs 5.8 pounds and measures about
10" high and 9" wide.
