F916 - Fossil fish is in a 6" x 8" sandstone matrix, mounted in a 14" x 18" frame.

Eocene age (38-54 Million years) Green River Formation.

Ray frames these himself. He picks out an especially nice specimen. Then the fossil plate is set into a cut-out in a piece of 1/4" plywood and is backed with another piece of 1/4" plywood. The frames are a rustic, rough-sawn material and are stained. The inset area around the fossil is covered with a brown/rust colored burlap. An identification plate is attached to the bottom of the inset under the specimen. These make wonderful gifts and are very nice decor for home or office!
