F1405 - Really nice sand dollar fossils from Madagascar.
Clypeasteroid, a member
of the Echinoid
family.
Cretaceous age: 65 to 130 million years old.
From: Majanga, Madagascar. Sand dollars belong to a very large group of marine animals called Echinodermata, which include the sea cucumber, sea urchin, the brittle stars, sand dollar and many others.
The matrix has been ground to a rounded top and the base is flat. Then the top was polished. Makes a nice decoration or addition to a collection.

These would make nice aquarium decoration! |
