Nice educational fossil kit containing ten different fossils of marine animals, dinosaurs, plant fossils and fossilized dung. This kit has a Geologic Time Scale chart on the inside of the lid. Each specimen comes with its own identification card, sealed inside a plastic zip bag. The identification cards give a complete description of the fossil inside and gives the age of the fossil and where it was found. The box measures 7-1/4" long X 6-1/4" wide X 1-1/4" deep.

Belemnites were squid-like animals, probably closely related to the ancestors of modern day squid and cuttlefish. he rostrum is a strong, hard, projectile-like shell that was internal in te living animal. The rostrum is usually the only part of the animal that fossilized. They were widespread in North America in the Cretaceous age.
