Crow Shark - Shark Tooth - Fossil teeth - squalicorax pristodontus
Fossil Crow Shark Tooth from the phosphate mines in Ouled Adboun
Basin, Morocco. Cretaceous age - about 70 MYO. From an extinct
species of shark. These shark teeth have serrated edges like a steak
knife. The teeth of this shark species average around 1" to
1-1/2". Based on the size or fossil teeth that have been found it is
believed that the Squalicorax pristodontus, Crow Shark, would have
reached a length of about 10 feet.
Fossil teeth of the squalicorax pristodontus have been found in many
locations in the world suggesting that the species was plentiful and
widespread. The squalicorax pristodontus, Crow Shark, became extinct
at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago.
