June 19th, 2008. by Richard Lackmond
June 19th, 2008. Field trip to Squache, Colorado. Blue Agate,
Jasper, Geodes and Fire Agate. Thanks to Lori and Don for a fantastic
trip.
| Okay. Here we are in the park at Sguache roaring to go |
| Unloading all that collecting gear |
| Meeting with wagonmaster for instructions.
We want to go down that draw and then up that hill and the agate is
everywhere |
| That looks like it is really slick. But I do see specs of blue and red |
Had to stop and view the Indian Paintbrush, Iris, and others. Just proves summer was really late |
| Don't forget us little Lupins (Das Lupine) |
| Time to gather back at the cars and have a bite before the next portion of our trip |
This time we go up that hill about 1.5 miles and we will find a great pocket. Oh boy! Let's go |
| There they go. I couldn't go on this part but all were excited to follow Don as he almost ran into the forrest |
| Some of my finds. Primarily blue agate and jasper |
| I am now starting to cut some of this material.
These two looks good, real solid.
Stan found a fantastic plate that is about 8 inches and has some great color |
| Thanks Lori and Don for a fantastic trip.
I await further pictures on this trip |
